BIOL 201 - General Microbiology for Health Professionals (4 Units)
Prerequisites: CHEM 111A or CHEM 140 with a grade of “C” or better and GE Foundation requirements. Microbiology for those planning careers in nursing, health care and education, and foods and nutrition. Introduction to microorganisms, including structure, function, metabolism, growth, genetics, diversity, and applied aspects. Special emphasis on human health.
Course fee may be required. (Lecture 2 hrs., laboratory 6 hrs.) Not open for credit to majors in the biological sciences. Not open for credit to students with credit in MICR 200.
