MAE 663 - Nonlinear Optimized Structures

(3 units)

Prerequisite: MAE 563 , or consent of instructor. (Master’s students register in MAE 663, Ph.D. students register in MAE 763 ) all with a grade of “C” or better.
Analysis, optimization of frame with automatic mesh generation using I-DEAS, with popular software such as: STRUDL, NASTRAN etc. Generation, idealization of complex structures. Sensitivity, Buckling analysis etc.

Letter grade only (A-F). Required topics for Ph.D. students: advanced numerical methods for flutter and random analysis. (Lecture-problems 3 hours) MAE 763
